I went here today unexpectedly because Barton Springs Pool was closed for weekly maintenance. Pros - lots of shady spots to sit poolside, water is cool but not freezing, and you can eat food at the upstairs patios. Plus there are restaurants within walking distance. Cons - water is very shallow, 3-4 feet. Parking lot is small and fills up early so be patient or prepared to park far away.

I had a wonderful time at deep eddy pool yesterday. The hostess Carry at the register greeted me with a smile and a welcoming attitude. She was very helpful and courteous. The manager Gabe was also very attentive and caring. He made sure that I had everything I needed and prepared a hot shower for me after my swim in the cold water. That was a very nice touch. The lifeguards were also very friendly and chatty. They made me feel safe and comfortable during my recreational swim. I enjoyed the pool and the facilities. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend deep eddy pool to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing swim.

Texas's oldest spring-fed pool, and my preferred among downtown Austin's pair. More local, more nostalgic. Super cold, all the time. Decent street parking nearby on the weekends. Interesting outdoor showers in the changing areas.

We had a great time swimming here after a short hike in the hills. The water was refreshing and although there was a few amount of people (perhaps field trips, bc lots of kiddos) it was great overall. Definitely coming back!

I absolutely love this swimming spot! Maybe even better than Barton Springs. Cool, clean water. Lap lanes. Sometimes they have Jim Jim's at the concession window. It's also free entry until Sept 30! Can't beat that!! Also, parking in the main lot can be hit or miss but there's a sign for the overflow parking if needed.

Had a nice time here on a Thursday. There is a swimming rescue dummy in the deep end at the bottom that my son thought was cool and creepy lol. Wasn’t too crowded and was able to find parking and a shady spot. FYI- With parking for 3.5 hours, it was $25 for a fam of 4 who are Austin residents. Totally worth it but just wasn’t expecting it to be that much, my mind still lives in the 80s here.

Came here with a friend at noon, hardly anyone here till about 2pm! Best to come early to claim a spot and a parking spot. Not much available. Water is cold, no mater the time of year but not as cold as Barton Springs. Very kid friendly. No outside food or beverages allowed.

Nice cool refreshing spring fed pool. All nature no chemicals. The pool fee was waived for us when we visited but it doesn't cost any more than other pools. Liked that the maxed depth was around 4.5 feet. My kids were able to touch bottom for most of the pool, which allowed them to move around more freely. There is limited free parking, but we ended up parking down the trail near the High School for a small parking fee. It's definitely worth visiting.
